The RNLI has an Education service to support children, schools and youth groups with beach safety advice and information about the RNLI. All our services are free though we are able to provide support to those who do decide to fundraise for the RNLI.
We offer the following services:
Book an interactive RNLI workshop delivered by an experienced Education Presenter. They're free, fun and can be tailored to the needs of your class.
Topics can include sea and beach safety, how lifeboat rescues work, the history of the RNLI, volunteering and much more.
The RNLI's Shorething website also provides a comprehensive set of cross-curricular resources for children and teachers/leaders.
The teachers' section includes resources and teaching packs for all key stages with downloadable lesson plans, whiteboard activities and project plans.
Are you busy planning for the academic year? We have more than 100 downloadable educational resources, which are freely available for teachers to use.
From Key Stage 1 through to 3 and covering a wide range of subjects, you'll find lesson plans, games, activity sheets and multimedia resources, which could add variety to your lessons and save you time.
The resources include teaching packs for Key Stage 2 All Aboard and Key Stage 3 On Your Wavelength.
Our multimedia teaching resource On Your Wavelength covers areas of the PSHE and Citizenship curricula. It will help your pupils to develop the skills to make safe decisions and to find out about volunteering, fundraising and the role of the RNLI.
We look forward to welcoming you to Poole Lifeboat Station!
